Inclusivity of vacation offers in Monheim am Rhein for children with disabilities
Monheim has set itself the goal of being a "city for everyone, where inclusion and equal opportunities are practiced at every level" and has set out to consistently bring the idea of inclusivity to life. Monheim am Rhein should be a place where diversity is appreciated, where participation is actively promoted and no-one is excluded.
For everyone involved in child and youth services or in clubs and associations, this means constantly reflecting on their own work and regularly adapting their offers. In terms of developing their offers with a focus on inclusivity, this specifically requires making leisure and vacation activities more inclusive.
Providers on the school holiday web portal (Ferienportal) use the site to present their attractive and exciting activities to parents, children and teenagers in Monheim am Rhein and make them accessible. Obviously, this includes explicitly encouraging parents of children with disabilities to sign up their children for these activities.
All the providers whose offers are available on the school holiday portal have been sensitized to potential clinical pictures and challenges, and are in direct exchange with the Lebenshilfe disability support service of the district of Mettmann.
Should you have any questions or be uncertain about whether your child can participate, we encourage you to contact the provider of the activity in question directly or write an email to ferienportal@monheim.de.
